How are switchboards classified according to voltage type?
2025-03-28
Distribution cabinets can be classified from multiple perspectives. The following are some common classification methods and specific types:
Classification by Voltage Level
High-voltage switchgear: Typically used in power grids with voltage levels of 3kV and above. The internal electrical equipment has high insulation requirements, and the structural design focuses on safety distances and arc extinguishing capabilities. It is widely used in urban power grids to distribute power to residential areas, factories, etc.
Low-voltage switchgear: The voltage level is generally 0.4kV and below. It is commonly found in the distribution rooms of buildings, supplying power to low-voltage electrical equipment such as lighting, sockets, and elevators. The internal electrical components are relatively compact, and operation and maintenance are relatively simple.
