When selecting the load switch for the crane load switch box, how should environmental humidity factors be considered?

Insulation Performance: In high humidity conditions, moisture in the air may condense on the surface of the switch's insulating components, leading to a decrease in insulation performance.

Ambient humidity significantly impacts the selection of load switches for crane load switch boxes. Several factors related to environmental humidity should be considered during selection:

Insulation Performance: In high-humidity environments, moisture in the air can condense on the insulating components of the switch, reducing insulation performance. Therefore, in high-humidity environments, load switches with good insulation performance and moisture resistance should be selected. For example, switches using highly moisture-resistant insulating materials and with rationally designed insulation structures should be selected to prevent insulation breakdown and short circuits.

Protection Rating: Select a load switch with an appropriate protection rating based on the environmental humidity. For high-humidity environments, it is recommended to select a load switch with a protection rating of at least IP54. The IP54 protection rating prevents dust from entering and prevents water from splashing in from any direction, better protecting the internal electrical components from humid air and moisture. If the humidity is very high or there is a large amount of water vapor, such as in damp warehouses or cranes operating near the seaside, consider selecting an IP65 rated load switch, which has higher water and dust resistance.

Material Selection: The internal materials of the load switch should be able to withstand humid environments. For example, corrosion-resistant metal materials and moisture-proof insulating materials should be chosen to avoid rusting of metal parts and degradation of insulating material performance due to humidity. Some metal parts with special coatings or sealing treatments can effectively prevent moisture corrosion; insulating materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene have good moisture resistance and can improve the reliability of the switch in humid environments.

Condensation Handling: In high-humidity environments, the potential for condensation on the load switch must also be considered. Some load switches are equipped with heating devices or condensation controllers that automatically activate the heating device when humidity reaches a certain level or there is a tendency for condensation, preventing condensation and ensuring normal operation of the switch. When selecting a load switch, consider products with this function, or install appropriate dehumidification equipment at the load switch installation site to reduce the impact of environmental humidity on the switch.
